The suffering of animals used in medical research is something that has been well documented over the years, although the extent of it hasn’t necessarily got the same coverage. Many argue that it simply a necessary evil for research and development of Medicine for human use, however, views are widely split on whether animal experimentation is part of good science, and results in medical breakthroughs for humans, or whether such progress could have been achieved by other means. One such group opposed to the cruel treatment of animals for medical research is Humane Research Australia, and its CEO, Helen Marston, spoke to Tim Brunero. Tim asked Helen if the they were opposed to all forms of animal experimentation.
